Your First Event ​

Let's record a simple weighing to see how Kilnside works.

Step by Step ​

  1. Open the Chat tab
  2. Tap the microphone button
  3. Say: "Weigh Ewe 42, sixty-eight kilos" (use one of your own animals)
  4. Release the button

Kilnside will show you a confirmation card with the details:

  • The animal it matched
  • The weight you said
  • The time it was recorded
  1. Check the details look right
  2. Tap Confirm

That's it. The event is recorded. If you're online, it syncs immediately. If you're offline, it'll sync automatically next time you have signal.

What Just Happened ​

You created an observation event — a record that a specific animal weighed a specific amount at a specific time. This weight is now part of that animal's history and can be used in reports, averages, and growth tracking.

Try a Few More ​

Here are some things to try next:

  • Move an animal: "Move Ewe 42 to North Field"
  • Ask a question: "How many sheep do I have?"
  • Record a treatment: "Gave Ewe 42 Dectomax, 2ml"

Each time, Kilnside will show you a confirmation card. Check the details and tap Confirm.

What If Something Goes Wrong? ​

  • Wrong animal? Say "no, I meant Ewe 15" or tap the correction option on the card
  • Wrong weight? Say "change the weight to 70"
  • Want to cancel? Don't tap Confirm — just ignore the card and move on
